Are you short on time and/or unable to get to a notary?

Remote online notarization solves both problems.

Must Have a U.S. Government-Issued ID.

The Signer(s) Can Be Located Anywhere.

The Process is Quick, Easy and Secure.

What Is Remote Online Notarization?

With remote notarization, a signer personally appears before the Notary at the time of the notarization using audio-visual technology over the internet instead of being physically present in the same room.

The Notary Public is required to be in their commissioned state at the time of the notarization, but the signer can be located anywhere in the world.

Remote Online Notarization is accepted in all 50 United States and is quick, easy and secure!

What Documents Can Be Notarized Remotely?

Almost any document that can be notarized in person, can be notarized remotely. There are a few exceptions. See the updated list in the FAQ section below.

You should always check with the receipient of the notarized document, especially financial institutions, to ensure that they will accept a document that has been notarized remotely.

Frequently Asked Questions...

What is a notary?

A notary public is defined as an official of integrity who is appointed by a state’s secretary of state, to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents.

What forms of ID are acceptable?

Acceptable forms of ID are currently U.S. issued identification, such as:

  • Driver's License.
  • Passport.
  • Non-Driver ID.
  • Military ID.
  • Government-Issued ID.
What are the methods of payment that you accept?

I accept Zelle, all major credit cards and cash.

Does notarization mean that a document is legal or true?

No. Notaries are NOT responsible for the accuracy or legality of any document that they are asked to notarize. A notary will only certify the identity of the signer(s). The signer(s) are responsible for the content of the document(s) that they are signing.

May a notary give legal advice or draft legal documents?

No. All U.S. states prohibit non-attorneys from practicing law. This includes offering legal services without being licensed as an attorney. Statutes, court opinions and ethics rulings from the state bar often define legal services in the following ways:

  • Giving advice about a document a customer needs.
  • Recommending the type of notarization required.
  • Offering an opinion about the legality or effect of a document or documents.
What types of documents cannot be notarized remotely?
  • Documents being used outside of the U.S.
  • Wills, codicils, and testamentary trusts.
  • Motor vehicle title transfers.
  • Any document with odometer statement/reading.
  • Certified true copies of birth, marriage, death certificates, court issued documents.
  • Any document notarized previously by another online notary.
